I remember when SQL Server was a big deal on Windows NT Server.  Microsoft made a lot of money selling Windows NT Server and SQL Server licenses.

I guess as they see Linux in a different light they are porting their stuff to it. No longer need NT Server or Windows Server to run SQL Server just Linux now.


I used to write VB code to migrate data from MS-Access to SQL Server to convert databases and sync them up. Used an ADO recordset to migrate data to another ADO recordset.

I ran MSDE on my Windows 2000 Pro laptop to test out the database before I pushed it to the production server.
