Apparently it started out on 4Chan and Reddit about the video game industry being corrupt and journalists being paid or given sexual favors to review video games in a positive review.

A few feminists got caught in sexual relationships with male journalists and gave sexual favors in exchange for positive reviews of their shitty video games like 'Depression Quest' and other crap.

In any case 4Chan and Reddit have been exposing this sex for journalism corruption in the video game industry that feminist game makers are doing, and the feminists are making fake death and rape threats using dupe Twitter accounts and blaming it on 4Chan. Calling all 4Chan and Reddit as Gamebros, not understanding that there are women involved on 4Chan and Reddit, and not all men are a part of this Gamergate sting.

i can't trust anything i read on the internet.

oh wait, i already knew that.

i thought, when i was younger, when the web was a lot younger, that the internet would democratize information and bring about real change.

it may yet do that, but in the meantime the internet has become the number one source for disinformation, falsehoods, lies, you name it. Every asshole with a factually incorrect opinion can find some place on the internet, some group of nut jobs who agrees with them.

i'm not sure what to make of this or what this means, but i'm pretty sure the wars of the future will be all about information.
