My mom is a Schizophrenic with Hypergraphia

She thinks the pages she writes will save the world and expose a vast conspiracy run by Dick Cheney, Ralph Nader, Tom Brokaw and....Peter Jennings. I've been taking care of her since I was 12 years old. I've been dealing with this for 17 years. This is what her writing looks like on a really bad day.

You can see samples of her [Crawfordian writing style](http://imgur.com/a/KLpxV#MxJAPOb).

I feel you. It's like playing a never-ending game of chess, except your opponent can change the rules at random.
The hard part of helping my mom is that one facet(there are many) of her paranoia revolves around poison and toxic chemicals.

from here.

See that?

Crawford isn't a precious little USMC snowflake.

Turns out he's just another screwball working tirelessly to harm himself.

You'd think constantly self injuring and becoming a 9-11 addict would raise some red flags.

Crawfordian writing for sure.

He should go on disability, take some MOOC courses, and let Medicare pay for his pills and shit. Get a cheap HUD apartment and move away from his mother who is most likely schizophrenic as well.

sparklepony27 alias Tommygun27 (sparkle = Tommy? pony = gun? 27 = prime?) is a name that will live in infamy. Betty knows why.

Betty always knows.

My name is LilDebbie and I have a garden.

That seems mild (if incoherent) (none / 1) (#3)

My cousin's father, both of whom are doornail-tier dead at this time, had that as well. Walls of text, none of which makes any sense, and every last one of the notebooks preserved in his apartment's basement storage cabinet.

It wasn't a cupboardful, oh no. There were hundreds of notebooks, piled up floor to ceiling, all stuffed with complete and total nonsense.

Apparently it was therapeutic. I never saw any difference.

Fin.

Why are they like that? (none / 1) (#6)

I mean, it's some sort of bio-chemical imbalance, right? Why does it cause so many of the people affected to see conspiracy patterns?

I guess in there is a generate-and-filter system that generates all the possible explanations for things, and filters out the improbable ones. If the filter isn't strong enough the crazy ones get through. But what about the ones that are right but nobody's thought of it.

I guess it could also go the other way, desperately looking for connections where there aren't any. Is that inductive vs deductive?

Another piece of the puzzle of intelligence, and for me, more more interestingly, the question of limits of intelligence.
