Ask K5: Plex server and Divx+ movies

On TPB some people are converting movies to this new DivX+ format using some Windoze tool and then when I download the AVI file for Plex and Linux and Roku it only shows the film as 19 seconds even if it is 700M in size.

The readme.txt says it uses the new DivX+ codex that was just released? Is this BS or real?

Got any Linux based DivX+ updates or anything that can convert this bullshit into something Plex can use to stream to my Roku box?

I got Bad Grampa, Ender's Game, Thor the Dark World and other shit that won't play. Is this DivX+ crap true or have I been scammed or whatever by pirates with fake shit?

They direct you to a site to download the magic codec, and, who knows, they might actually give it to you after you sit through their spam, click on their links, and pay a fee.

They need the money to ransom their souls from the lowest pit in hell. At least that's what I remember from Dante.

Their codecs from divx.com.

So yes it is real.

"So what's DivX Plus all about? DivX Plus video, software and devices offer our highest quality and most comprehensive playback experience. How? By adopting and adding to the latest and greatest video technology (H.264 video in an MKV file container), you can play HD video on your computer or through a DivX Plus HD device, all with a small file size."
