As you know, these damned things spout oil like your mama's George Forman grill, but is it true the mystery malfunctioning parts were manufactured in China? RR says

"(T)he failure was confined to a specific component in the turbine area of the engine," the company said in a statement. "This caused an oil fire, which led to the release of the intermediate pressure turbine disc.
In the TURBINE AREA? WTF! Thousands and thousands of lives could hang the balance. We the PEOPLE (= CONSUMERS) demand explicit answers! How much of the engine is built with cheap Chinese parts? Tell us, or we boycott!

Wow...I have a bad case of diarrhea. Must've been those peanuts I ate last night.

like ipads.  and england hasn't been able to manufacture shit since wwii.  lets be honest: the more material in that engine that doesn't come from the uk, the safer it probably is.

in the articles, except that RR canceled a presentation at a trade show. Did I miss something, or is this a guess?

Not sure about the A380. 4 engines = good, bigger than god meant for things that fly = bad.

"led to the release of the intermediate pressure turbine disc"

i love how they try to hide the image of super hot, fast-spinning metal blowing out of the engine in all radial directions as "the release". jesus h christ, they're lucky almost nobody knows how a jet engine works.

Are you serious? You can't boycott. You won't stop flying. And when you fly, you don't get to choose the plane. If you refuse to fly on a certain type of plane, the plane (and your ticketed space) will fly away on schedule, leaving you there in the terminal, poorer, and looking like a pure fucking dork.

You apes think you have consumer power. You have nothing.
