this guy was a freak. He frequently worked two jobs - and more often than not, both were software development, requiring 50+ hours a week APIECE. He walked about 4.5 miles per hour. He ALWAYS took the stairs, even when we worked on the 9th floor. He biked to work, and when we lived 3 miles from work and on the 9th floor, he consistently made the trip in less than 15 minutes, even through RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC and SNOW.

Once I was drinking coffee in the ground floor shop, bsing with a local bike cop. Then this pothead freak zooms by and says 'hi' to both of us. Cop says: "that guy always smells like a skunk. Sometimes I think it's pot, but he moves too goddam fast. I used to race bikes in high school, but he always kicks my ass when I race him."

how I kept a straight face I'll never know.

_{Now I'm sure most of you will assume he did tons of speed. No. I've known that type too, and it wasn't him. He ate like horse, and he slept like a rock - if only for about 4 hours a night.}
