Annual Windshield Sticker?

Where do I get those stickers for my windshield?

Poll: Am I going to jail?!?

So I bought my first car in February. It is a Honda Civic racecar. And I got the license plates and registration and everything. But I have not heard any word from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (where I live) on where to get the two stickers that everyone has on their windshields.

I snooped around and looked at the stickers. One is an emissions test sticker, and the other is labelled "Annual Windshield Sticker," which is funny because it sounds like a sticker for an annual windshield.

So I went to the Pennsylvania web site (the URL is helpfully provided on the PA license plate for some reason) to try and figure it out, and I couldn't. There was one reference to how I need to get emissions tested, but didn't tell me where.

Anyway, I have seen places that do emissions testing, so I will probably just go and ask them about it. Annual Windshield Sticker...

Also, I am famous.

or a mechanic, that's what works in New York.

Probably county property tax. Might want to call up the county tax assessors office.

If it was, I'm surprised the dealer let it off the lot without the requisite stickers.

If it wasn't, why doesn't it have current "Annual Windshield Sticker"/emissions test sticker?

I don't live in an emissions control state (5.00 / 1) (#4)

But I imaging you get your emissions sticker, as Georgeha said, from a mechanic who is certified by the state to do emissions inspections. The annual windshield sticker is, I would hazard, a general inspection sticker which shows that the auotmobile is in good working order (turn signals and brake lights work, it has seat belts, horn works, windshield not cracked in front of driver, etc.). Check with someone who has a car where you can find a mechanic who is certified to do the tests.

IIRC, you need to go to a mechanic that does state inspections.  I think pretty much any mechanic does.  They have some sort of distinctive sign that that says they do inspections.
