The Internet: A Long Series Of Inside Running Jokes

How does one explain why an image is funny to a neophyte?

This is a meta-joke of this, which is a meta-joke of this, which is the confluence of this and this, which is a meta-joke of this, which is just one long running joke.

Essentially, it's a meta-meta-joke based on a confluence of the American reaction to Japanese pop culture and a meta-joke.

Andy Warhol would have a field day with this.

Oh yeah (none / 0) (#1)

All three bedrooms are wired with the network now. It's nice, though a bit messy, which can't be fixed until I get the carpets redone. Whee! Now the only wire I have left to run is the one through the attic. Oh, and the last wire for the last bedroom happened to use the last of my first 500ft spool; fortunately it was just barely long enough...

I don't pretend to understand it, but damn that's awesome.

I love it. I love meta-jokes, and I love that you successfully pulled together all the parts that I knew that was made from. Good show, well done!

You know how long I've avoided the goatse.cx picture? I hadn't seen it... EVER! Then I go clicking on all your damn links without checking where they go first.

You know how hard I've worked to avoid that picture? you know how much effort you've flushed down the drain?

That being said... It wasn't all that bad, actually. Though I certainly hit back in a hurry.

oralse.cx is blocked by our firewall content filter. He he. I can understand goatse.cx, but there is nothing bad on oralse.cx. (Isn't archive.org a wonderfull thing).

FARK! (5.00 / 1) (#16)
by cooldev on Wed Mar 13, 2002 at 04:36:43 AM EST

FARK is a good humor site to waste time and relieve stress. Lots of odd links and Photoshop contests.

The Cliche Kitty and Domo-kun have been popular Photoshop material. They suspect that at least domokunkitty.jpg and meta-jokes after were made by one of their regular visitors, but nobody credible has fessed up.

A final note to...the Republican party. You do not want to get into a fight with David Letterman. ...He's simply more believable than you are.
